🌿 Where the Grove Began
Essence Grove didn’t start with a business plan.
It began with a wish, a quiet one.
Aunt C’Anna had weathered her share of storms.
School was hard. Life was loud.
She didn’t always feel like she belonged.
But she knew one thing for sure:
Stories, especially the gentle ones, hold the kind of magic that heals.
So she began to write.
To imagine a place where growth didn’t have to be fast,
where softness wasn’t seen as weakness.
A place where creativity could bloom wild,
and community could be rooted in care.
Essence Grove is that place.
Built from heartache, hope, and hands-on creativity,
this is a storybook sanctuary:
full of art, reflection, wonder, and warmth.
Maybe, at its core, it began because
Aunt C’Anna needed the Grove, too.
A place to be soft. To be messy. To grow in her own time.
It’s for kids who don’t fit the mold.
For grownups learning to breathe again.
Or anyone who still believes in something softer.
🌸 Welcome to the Grove.
We’re so glad you’re here.
🌿 Scroll softly, there’s more to the story…
Where dreams are still taking root…
Essence Grove is still blooming—one story, one character, one wish at a time.
This is only the beginning.
We imagine a world where storytelling is a tool for healing,
where creativity builds bridges,
and where every child (and grown-up) finds a soft place to land.
But someday… we hope it won’t just live in our imaginations.
🌿 A physical Grove—part greenhouse, part art studio, part safe haven. With a cafe!
A place where kids can draw their feelings.
Where elders can share their stories.
Where workshops, warm tea, and watercolor skies help people reconnect with themselves—and each other.
We imagine cozy reading corners and community art walls.
Wildflower gardens and story circles under the stars.
A place where you don’t have to be “fixed” to belong.
Until then, we’ll keep building it word by word, page by page, person by person.
Right here.
And if you're reading this…
maybe you're part of that dream, too.
🌱 The Future of the Grove
Aunt C’Anna dreams of creating a real-life Essence Grove: a magical community space that mirrors the storybook world.
Imagine a greenhouse-inspired haven filled with art, books, gentle workshops, and cozy corners. All designed to help you slow down, imagine, and feel.
A space where creativity and connection are nurtured like wildflowers.
At its heart, there will be a Story Café: a warm, welcoming spot to sip lavender tea, read beneath fairy lights,
and share ideas, laughter, or quiet reflection with others. A safe haven for all ages, all stories, all hearts still learning how to bloom.
It’s more than a building. It’s a soft revolution. Safety in real life… A real-life storybook sanctuary: where healing, expression, and belonging take root.

🌿 Meet the Author & Grovekeeper
C’Anna Hanser
(or, as many know me… Aunt C’Anna)
I didn’t follow a straight path to becoming an author or business owner. I’m a story-keeper. A community builder. A creative soul with a big heart and a deep belief in soft places that hold space for healing.
My background isn’t in publishing: it’s in people.
I’ve worked in childcare, management, startups, office admin, and more.
I’m also a 200-hour certified yoga teacher (currently working toward my 500-hour), and I’ve always been drawn to learning: whether it’s reading, writing, crocheting, photography, or just sitting quietly with a question.
I created Essence Grove not because I had everything figured out, but because I needed it.
It began as a story I wrote while navigating illness and uncertainty…
but it’s grown into something much bigger.
A space for others like me: those still learning, healing, and holding space for hope.
My niece and nephew are a huge part of my “why.”
They remind me why it’s worth building a world that’s softer, safer, and more supportive for the next generation.
🌱 About Becoming a Grovekeeper
One day, I hope there will be other Grovekeepers too. I won’t just hand that title to anyone. Not even friends.
The Grove is a safe place. I will protect it, first and foremost.
If you want to help lead in this space, you’ll need to grow with it. Not just show up for the cozy moments, but be present for the hard ones too.
It takes empathy. Depth. Accountability.
When you walk into people’s pain, you don’t get to do it halfway. They need your care, and gentle hands.
🌿 Grovekeeper Expectations:
These are the truths I live by. These are the non-negotiables.
If you say you're in my life, if you say you want to help grow the Grove, then this is what I expect.
Here’s what else I need you to know:
I know who I’m working with.
I know the kids. I know the quiet ones reading these posts.
I know the artists, the parents, the survivors, the dreamers.
I can tell what energy you’re going to bring.
If it threatens the peace or safety of the Wildflowers here, you won’t be invited past the garden gate.
I believe community starts with a few people who really care and grows into something beautiful with time.
I’m here to lead gently, love loudly, and keep showing up for the dream.
Every day. Every breath. Every story.
—C’Anna 🌿
Yes, this sounds harsh. No there’s no room for budging, because the people we want to help, need safety and security.
✔️ What I Expect from Grovekeepers
You show up.
For yourself. For others. In real ways, not just words. You don’t let people drown.
When someone is struggling, you don’t say “that’s on you.”
You say, “I see you. I’m here.”You push gently, not passively.
You help others move forward, especially those with trauma.
You don’t try to fix or control, you support. You lead with empathy.
Not all love and light. Real empathy.
The kind that recognizes pain, complexity, and difference, and still stays. You trust your instincts.
If something feels off, you speak. If someone’s in need, you act.You don't walk away from pain.
If your response is “deal with it yourself,” this space is not for you.You don’t need to be overflowing with emotions.
Whether you feel everything or feel nothing, you still care. You fight injustice.
Toward people, animals, the earth. You don’t sit back. You take accountability.
When you add to harm, you own it. You learn. You grow. You don’t need to be a “tree-hugger.”
You do need to be someone who stands for something. You do better.
Not performatively. Not because it’s trendy.
Because it’s right.
This is for the Grovekeepers.
Not just the helpers.
The protectors.
The ones who say they’re empathetic, and live like it.
If you say you care, but don’t show up, how can I trust you with the youth?
If your life doesn’t feel like it matters to you,
how can I trust you to value someone else’s?
This Grove isn’t for ego. It isn’t for easy.
It’s for those who keep showing up.
Even when it’s hard.
Especially when it matters.
🌲 Essence Grove Was Planted in Michigan:
Among the Great Lakes, thick forests, and the fierce, kindhearted people I proudly call my own.
This place raised me. It taught me resilience, creativity, and how to offer care that runs deep.
My work is rooted in emotional literacy, accessible healing, and creative expression for all ages; especially for kids who just need someone to believe in them.
It’s more than just that.
I’ve worn a lot of titles over the years:
Manufacturing. Childcare. Management. Start-up support. Administrative and data entry work.
Each one taught me something. Each one built a part of the Grove.
They’re not the whole story. They are tiny pieces of the puzzle. They’ve shaped how I show up, but not why.
At the heart of it all, what I carry into every branch of Essence Grove™ is this:
✨ A promise to lead gently.
✨ To believe fiercely.
✨ And to keep building soft spaces where healing and hope can grow.
🌿 What I Offer:
I don’t charge for low-income visits to communities that can’t afford the extra it would take, because my mission is simple:
To meet the children who need literacy, healing, or just a little sunlight in their lives.
For standard visits:
🕰️ $75–$150 per hour (based on needs, materials, and group size)
✨ Workshops & Story Circles:
Can be adapted for schools, libraries, youth centers, and intergenerational spaces,
anywhere there's room to grow.
Each session invites curiosity, creativity, and emotional connection through storytelling, reflection, and gentle hands-on activities.
Whether it’s a classroom corner, a community room, or a cozy patch of grass, the Grove meets people where they are; and helps something meaningful bloom.
🌎 The Grove Was Never Meant to Stay in One Place:
Michigan is my home. My love. My roots.
Essence Grove™ was never meant to stay in one place.
This dream is meant to travel.
I’m open to visiting communities near and far: small towns, big cities, rural libraries, reservation schools, senior homes, and quiet corners across the country.
If you see a space in your community where the Grove could grow: a classroom, a bookstore, a garden, a rec center. Just know this: we can figure out how to make it happen.
Essence Grove™ thrives on connection, creativity, and care.
It doesn’t need a perfect setup; just a patch of possibility and a few hearts ready to gather.
Let’s dream something into bloom. Together.
